About Me
I am a 45 year old mother of two who had a spiritual awakening during a crisis of health 17 years ago - at the time, I didn't understand what was happening and it was frightening and confusing at times. I had always been sensitive to spirit - had felt them around me as a child and growing up - but it was after contracting a chronic illness that my spiritual pathway really opened up.
I started a journey of self healing and met many teachers along the way but it was my connection to spirit and my inner guides which served to point me towards my life plan. It took many years before I had the courage to trust them - me - completely. In our culture, it is not considered 'normal' to experience 'peak' or paranormal events: it has taken me a long time to accept myself for who I am, why should I have expected it of others?
In my everyday life, I work as a counsellor and community development worker - I believe that any spiritual practice must be backed up by service to the community. I have studied different religions and beliefs but no longer believe that any one of them hold all the answers. The answers, indeed, come from within ourselves: only we know what it is like to live our life. We can seek guidance from others but it is our life and our responsibility to live it - there are no right and wrong choices since we are all heading in the same direction and even a wrong choice can open us up to greater knowledge.
Part of our journey is learning to swim with the tides - we need to be able to listen to that still, small voice within that will show us our true destiny and lead to us fulfilling our true potential.
